Research Associate Social Space & Diversity in Social Work

What you will do here

• Collaborate in research projects in the areas of social space & diversity, participation opportunities, inclusion and exclusion processes in social work contexts, caring communities & resilient cities as well as plan, acquire, conduct, lead and evaluate initial research and development projects
• Write initial scientific and professional publications
• Participate with own contributions at conferences, congresses and events
• Contribute to teaching in the bachelor’s degree programme (conduct courses and supervise student papers, internships and bachelor theses)
• Take on further content-related and organisational tasks at the Institute for Social and Cultural Diversity and in the thematic focus on social space and diversity

What you ideally bring with you

• Master’s degree (mandatory) in social work or a related field
• Several years of practical experience in one of the following fields of activity: community work, open child and youth work, project work in the area of social space and diversity
• Competences in social-spatial practice and research methods
• Knowledge of the professional discourse in the field of social space & diversity and social work
• Experience and/or further training in university teaching or willingness to acquire this, including (e-)didactics (higher education didactics)
• Very good oral and written German skills, multilingualism is an advantage
• Willingness to develop a profile in university teaching and research and to actively shape your own development
