Medical Secretary at the Mobile Unit for Specialist Paediatric Support
To complete its team, the Mobile Unit for Specialist Paediatric Support (UMAPS) is seeking a medical secretary for a 50% to 60% workload, on a permanent contract. The starting date is scheduled for 1 October 2026 or to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
Within the Woman-Mother-Child Department (DFME), the Paediatrics Service provides multidisciplinary care for children from 0 to 18 years old. UMAPS supports children with paediatric palliative care needs and their families, prioritising the maintenance of their quality of life. The unit also supports frontline teams throughout the care pathway.
Mission
- You ensure the management and follow-up of medical documents as well as the circulation of information, both internally and externally
- You organise and coordinate the unit’s consultations
- You provide administrative support to senior doctors and the team in their daily activities
- You organise the unit’s colloquia, symposiums and events and ensure the follow-up of minutes
- You participate in quality initiatives and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of services.
Profile
- You hold a medical secretary qualification and/or a commercial employee CFC or an equivalent recognised qualification
- You have at least 5 years’ experience in a hospital environment and master medical terminology
- You have excellent command of French and spelling
- You demonstrate rigour, excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities
- You are autonomous, empathetic, discreet, flexible and enjoy working in a team
- You are proficient with common IT tools (MS Office); knowledge of institutional tools is an asset.
