The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partner institution, funded by the Canton and the municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of relationships between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural and associative field actions carried out by the centres and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with a general aim of preventing social exclusion.
A vacancy is open at the Ô P’tit-Sac neighbourhood centre for a social secretary supporting accounting at 40%.
Job Description
- Manage the internal organisation of the centre's secretariat: coordination of activities, processing and provision of information, management of registrations and the association's member database
- Carry out various secretarial tasks: correspondence, notes, minute-taking, statistics, deadlines, management of the petty cash
- Compile, verify and use files, ensure the follow-up of the filing and archiving system
- Assist the animation team and the Committee with various administrative tasks
- Provide support for accounting according to objectives set by the centre's managers and FASe accounting guidelines; receipt and entry of debtor/creditor accounts, invoice verification and follow-up, posting entries, gathering elements necessary for the preparation of the annual budget and interim projections, establishment and monitoring of the budget with the treasurer and chair (presentation, analysis of variances), preparation and adjustment of the following year’s budget
- Support closing operations, including preparation for auditors, including interim closings (comparison with budget, presentation and analysis of variances)
- Support debtor follow-up, including provisions for doubtful debts
- Support the management of cash and bank accounts
- Provide support for the verification of accounting situations and gather elements necessary for budget preparation
Qualifications
- Possession of a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee or equivalent AND training as an accountant or accounting assistant
- Ease in human relations with very diverse publics, willingness and ability to collaborate with multiple multidisciplinary partners: users, animation team, management Committee, volunteers, municipality, local and Geneva social network
- Excellent writing skills, recognised competence in minute-taking
- Ability to work independently, to take useful and appropriate initiatives for the smooth running of the centre, in close connection with the animation team and the management Committee
- Sense of responsibility, good organisational, planning and emergency management skills
- Interest in the operation of the centre in an associative mode
- Good knowledge of the functioning and organisation of FASe
- Proven experience in social secretary and accounting tasks, ease in understanding and using accounting software (Infoniqa)
- Good knowledge of common IT tools (Excel), AGATA software is an asset
- Comfort with participatory software and tools and good adaptability to changes
Additional Information
- Availability to take minutes during evening meetings. Presence on Tuesdays at least and ideally Thursdays.
- Salary according to the Geneva State pay scale: maximum class 11
- After interviews, you will have to complete an accounting test at the FASe General Secretariat
- Possibility to move to a 70% permanent contract from January 2027
- Start date: as soon as possible
