Role:
Are you looking for a position where your networking experience truly makes an impact? Here, as a Network & Security Engineer, you help determine how secure and efficient the entire IT landscape operates. The focus is on firewall systems and an infrastructure that spans LAN, WAN, and WLAN. Technical depth is as important as your view of the big picture. Additionally, you actively shape the team’s working methods and support younger colleagues.
Responsibilities:
You develop the firewall environment further, keep its configuration up to date, and ensure secure operation
You are also responsible for planning, building, and operating LAN, WAN, and WLAN with a focus on availability and scalability
You handle demanding cases in 2nd- and 3rd-level support and identify the causes of network disruptions
Together with system and security engineers, you design a seamless overall architecture
You support departments as a competent contact person for questions about network and security
Furthermore, you keep operational concepts and network standards up to date, share your knowledge, and advance agile methods within the team
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering forms your foundation, alternatively an equivalent qualification
You have several years of practical experience in network engineering
Moreover, you master protocols such as OSPF and BGP confidently and consistently think about network and system security together
You bring experience in several of these areas: routing, switching, VLAN, DNS, VPN, firewalls, or certificate management
You organise yourself in a structured and quality-conscious manner and keep an overview even with many requests
Additionally, you explain technology clearly to laypeople, enjoy coaching juniors, and communicate effortlessly in both spoken and written German and English
