Job Description
The Senior Legal Advisor operationally leads the Group's legal function. They ensure the legal security of activities, oversee significant legal risks, and support the Group's strategic projects. They supervise the legal governance of the Group's companies, structure legal practices, define the function's priorities, and oversee the legal team's activities. The role retains a strong operational dimension while ensuring arbitration, supervision, and coordination responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Group Legal Governance
- Supervise the legal governance of the Group's companies and their subsidiaries
- Oversee corporate law operations: general meetings, boards, statutory amendments, delegations, restructurings
- Support projects for the creation, acquisition, dissolution, or reorganisation of Group entities
- Arbitrate governance and legal organisation issues within the Group
- Supervise intellectual property matters and protection of the Group's assets
Contract Law and Transaction Structuring
- Define and validate complex contractual frameworks
- Supervise negotiation and drafting of strategic contracts
- Manage Group contractual standards and templates
- Support international projects and sensitive operations
Legal Analysis and Risk Management
- Identify, qualify, and arbitrate legal risks affecting the Group's activities
- Assess operational, financial, regulatory, and reputational impacts of proposed decisions
- Define appropriate mitigation strategies
- Support cross-cutting and multi-jurisdictional issues
Operational Support
- Advise operational teams and support departments
- Define legally secure solutions enabling project realisation
- Support complex issues related to the Group's international activities
- Assist with labour law, international mobility, and labour relations matters
Compliance, Ethics, and Governance
- Participate in developing the Group's legal compliance framework
- Contribute to internal governance, compliance, and risk management policies
- Participate in internal control and risk management systems
- Engage in matters related to business ethics, anti-corruption, conflicts of interest, and international sanctions
- Participate in internal investigations and sensitive matters when necessary
Litigation and Pre-litigation
- Supervise litigation and pre-litigation cases
- Define strategies with external counsel
- Arbitrate sensitive legal risks and positions
Knowledge Management and Dissemination
- Structure and maintain the Group's legal references
- Develop legal knowledge capitalisation
- Participate in raising awareness and training internal teams on legal and compliance issues
- Strengthen the dissemination of legal standards and best practices
Management and Structuring of the Legal Function
- Supervise and coach the legal team
- Structure working methods, tools, and processes
- Develop a pragmatic and business-oriented legal culture
Process and Continuous Improvement
- Improve legal workflows and monitoring tools
- Develop Group standards and methodologies
- Enhance documentation and dissemination of legal knowledge
Qualifications
Education
University degree in Swiss law, business law, international law, or equivalent. A lawyer's licence or additional training in governance, compliance, or risk management is an asset.
Experience
- Minimum 8 to 12 years of experience
- Significant experience in an international and multi-subsidiary environment
- Experience in contract law, corporate law, and risk management
- Experience in managing or coordinating a legal team
