The School of Law of the Faculty of Law, Criminal Sciences and Public Administration of the University of Lausanne is advertising a position for:
Professor of Civil Law at Open Rank 100% (Assistant Professor with conditional pre-tenure towards Associate Professor; Associate Professor or Full Professor)
If hired as an Associate Professor, the workload may be reduced to 80% for valid reasons.
Additional Information
Start date: August 1, 2027 or to be agreed
Contract duration: 6 years renewable for a Full Professor or Associate Professor / 2 years renewable twice for an Assistant Professor with conditional pre-tenure
Workload: 100%
Workplace: Lausanne - Dorigny
Your Activities
The job description includes the following teaching:
• Civil Law I: Law of persons, marriage law (excluding divorce and matrimonial regimes), and filiation law at the bachelor level in law
• Civil Law II: Divorce and matrimonial regimes at the bachelor level in law
• One or two master-level courses in advanced family law, depending on the interests and profile of the selected candidate and the interests of the School of Law.
The appointed person will also be responsible for developing research projects in the relevant field and supervising master's theses and doctoral dissertations. It is expected that they develop collaborations within the School of Law, the FDCA, other faculties of the University of Lausanne, and other Swiss or foreign universities and higher education institutions.
Your Profile
You hold a legal education in Swiss law and a doctorate. Proven teaching and research experience is also required.
Practical experience in relevant fields is highly desirable.
