About the job
So that people can carry out their service. The church lives through people. People who preach, make music, organise, accompany, visit, administer, plan, pray and get involved. People who use their gifts to make something of God’s love visible. To make all this possible, people are needed behind the scenes. People who support, coordinate, accompany and create the framework so that others can perform their service with joy and clarity.
For our Evangelical Reformed Church community, we are therefore looking for a committed individual as Head of Human Resources (80 - 100 %)
You do not primarily see personnel work as the administration of files and processes, but as a service to people. You work carefully and professionally, keep an overview even in complex situations and meet employees, authorities and volunteers with appreciation, humour and a service-oriented attitude.
Your tasks
- Personnel administration for members of authorities, employees and volunteers of our church community
- Support, accompaniment and development of the employees entrusted to you
- Management of payroll (Abacus) as well as maintenance and further development of personnel-related regulations
- Coordination and administration of recruitment and application processes in close cooperation with the church council and parish office
- Organisation and administration of employee appraisals with the involvement of the responsible church council
- Management and administration of digital (in CMI) and physical personnel files
- Monitoring of time and performance recording (Abacus), support of internal mandatory training and ensuring compliance with labour law requirements
- Preparation, implementation and monitoring of church council resolutions in the personnel area
- Participation in the monthly church council meetings
Your profile
- HR professional with a federally recognised specialist certificate or equivalent qualification
- Several years of experience in a comparable role, ideally in an Evangelical Reformed church community or a public-law institution
- Knowledge of church and public law or willingness to acquire it
- High initiative, sense of responsibility and reliability
- Confident handling of Abacus, CMI and common Microsoft Office applications
- Flexibility and willingness for occasional evening and weekend duties
- Connection to the Evangelical Reformed Church, interest in the spiritual life of the church community and – where possible – active participation
- Service-oriented, loyal and positively humorous basic attitude
What you can expect from us
- A meaningful and varied role with scope for creativity
- Collaboration with committed employees, members of authorities and volunteers
- An environment where people, not structures, are the focus
- Contemporary employment conditions and modern working tools
- The opportunity to actively shape and further develop the church
What is important to us
We are not simply looking for an HR professional. We are looking for a personality who understands that the church operates differently from many other organisations. A personality who works professionally and at the same time keeps people in mind. Someone who can listen, build bridges, create trust and does not lose their humour even in demanding situations. Because good personnel work in the church means creating the conditions so that people can live their vocation and fulfil their mission.
Promoting people. Enabling church. Keeping God in view.
