About the job
We are looking for a committed leader for the disciplinary and technical management of our specialist groups with a focus on drive systems. In this key position, you ensure that customer specifications are reviewed and commented on within the framework of offers, and that concepts are derived and described from them. In ongoing projects, you support the timely and high-quality implementation of tasks. In addition to leadership responsibility, you accompany review meetings and actively work on selected topics in our projects.
YOUR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Disciplinary and technical leadership of about 12 employees
- Further development of employees within their areas of responsibility and roles
- Continuous improvement of development processes and methods in the department at the St. Margrethen site as well as cross-site
- Continuous optimization of workflows and cross-departmental collaboration
- Responsibility for task planning with a focus on quality, deadlines, and costs
- Initiator for standardization and innovation in the department
- Design and layout of electrical drive systems (e.g., current collectors, power electronics, transformer, motor, energy storage)
- Evaluation of EMC measures to minimize identified EMC risks
- Performing calculations and simulations on energy consumption and travel duration of our vehicles to optimize the drive concept
YOUR PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Completed university degree with a focus on electrical engineering FH/ETH (MSc) or equivalent education
- Several years of professional and leadership experience in plant or rail vehicle construction, especially in leading technical specialists
- Knowledge in electrical drive technology as well as initial experience in the field of EMC, especially with interference currents, network feedback, electromagnetic interference emission, and protective and operational grounding is an advantage
- Good understanding of electromagnetic fields and interactions
- Interest in power electronics and high voltage technology
- Strong communication and leadership skills to promote collaboration with internal interfaces (e.g., software, mechanical and electrical engineering, purchasing, production) as well as external interfaces (customers, suppliers, and experts)
- German and English skills at C1 level, both spoken and written
