Role:
You don’t just want to manage technology, but actively develop it further? Modern IT platforms, automated infrastructures and secure cloud architectures are your area of expertise. At the same time, you want to take responsibility, set technical standards and advance a high-performance engineering team. This position combines demanding technical tasks with genuine scope for design. We are looking for a personality who keeps an overview of complex infrastructure issues, makes well-founded decisions and successfully transfers innovative solutions into operation.
Responsibilities:
Leading and further developing a specialised team for infrastructure and platform technologies
Technical overall responsibility for the architecture and lifecycle of central IT platforms
Designing and modernising hybrid infrastructures with Microsoft Azure and local data centre environments
Establishing standardised and automated provisioning processes for servers and cloud resources
Further developing platform services, identity management and central infrastructure components
Conceptualising scalable solutions for availability, performance and operational security
Introducing modern engineering methods such as Infrastructure as Code, Git-based configuration management and automated testing
Optimising system monitoring, fault analysis and proactive infrastructure management
Technical responsibility for security architectures, authorisation concepts and vulnerability management
Managing infrastructure projects as well as evaluating new technologies and solution approaches
Collaborating with architecture, cybersecurity, software development and IT service management
Establishing technical best practices, clear standards and a culture of continuous improvement
Qualifications:
Several years of practical experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering or system architecture
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure, cloud networking and hybrid platform architectures
Solid knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and central infrastructure services
Experience with virtualisation, storage, backup and highly available system environments
Practical experience in automation with PowerShell and ideally Terraform, Bicep or comparable tools
Knowledge of cloud governance, identity and access management as well as modern security concepts
Experience in technical leadership, mentoring or coordinating demanding infrastructure projects
Ability to make technical architecture decisions and pragmatically drive their implementation
Strong problem-solving skills and enjoyment of complex technical issues
Entrepreneurial thinking and the ability to combine technical quality with economic requirements
