About the job
The kitchen of the Laubegg day care cooks for around 800 children and young people per week. According to the guidelines of Fourchette Verte, balanced, sustainable and regional meals are prepared, which are specially adapted to the needs of children and young people. The kitchen supplies the local branch as well as 3 other locations with its food.Apprenticeship as Cook EFZ

At the Directorate for Education, Social Affairs and Sport, the person is at the centre. The day care is a voluntary family-supporting care offer for school children in the city of Bern.
What you will achieve
- You will go through all stations in the kitchen and visit various exciting deployment locations during your training
- You will learn various cooking and preparation techniques
- You will learn everything about the products, from delivery to serving, how they are stored and processed
- You will learn how to ensure hygiene in the kitchen
What you bring with you
- You have completed secondary or middle school
- You are interested in food and enjoy cooking, have a good sense of smell and taste
- You enjoy working in a team and like dealing with children and young people
- You like things clean and tidy
- You are fit and manage well to work mostly standing up
