Secondary and Vocational Education Office
Research Associate 80 - 100%
COMMITTED, CONNECTED THINKING AND NUMERICALLY SKILLED
The Secondary and Vocational Education Office is the competence and service centre for vocational education, secondary schools, higher vocational education and further education in the canton of Zurich. The Secondary Schools Department takes care of all matters concerning secondary schools. To complement the team, we are looking for a Research Associate (80-100%) on a permanent basis, starting immediately or by arrangement.
Your area of responsibility
Is your heart set on educational topics? Are you looking for a responsible role at the interface between administration and schools and do you have strong communication skills? In the Secondary Schools team, you will be involved in various educational topics, handle financial and contractual matters, write statements and concepts, and prepare decision-making bases for different committees. Your responsibilities include advising and supervising schools on procurement law issues, managing operational enquiries concerning the infrastructure of canteens at secondary schools, and supporting the stakeholders in the admission process of the Matura schools. You are the central contact person for schools, politics and the public. In close cooperation with all contacts, you steer and optimise various processes. In doing so, you present yourself to school managements as a reliable and competent expert who maintains an overview even in challenging situations and acts in a solution-oriented manner.
Your profile
You hold a master’s degree from a university and have professional experience in the education sector and/or administration. Your interest in the Zurich educational landscape enables you to quickly familiarise yourself with demanding issues. Thanks to your pronounced analytical and connected thinking, you quickly grasp complex contexts, work in a structured manner and with a strong awareness of quality. Your written and oral communication is confident, appropriate to the audience and binding. You are a high-performing individual for whom good teamwork is as important as independent work. Experience in preparing data-driven reports, a confident handling of numbers and IT topics, as well as your interest in procurement law and infrastructural issues complete your profile.
Our offer
An exciting and varied area of responsibility in education awaits you, along with a committed team and a centrally located workplace near Zurich main station, as well as attractive employment conditions according to cantonal guidelines, which include the possibility of home office.
Have we aroused your interest? Then we look forward to receiving your complete online application. Applications from employment agencies or via e-mail cannot be considered.
