About the job
The Schaffhausen Hospitals include the Cantonal Hospital, the Psychiatric Services, the Radiology and Cardiology Posthof Neuhausen practices, as well as the Neurology Practice Schaffhausen Centre. With over 1,700 employees, we ensure the extended medical and nursing basic care of the Schaffhausen region. Each year, we care for around 11,000 inpatients and 90,000 outpatients. Additionally, we are an important training centre in the canton.
You work in the nursing sector and want to complete training as a nursing specialist or as a Health Specialist EFZ as an adult? Then apply to us for the next training start.
In this two-year training, you will work on the ward for geriatric rehabilitation and transitional care at the Cantonal Hospital Schaffhausen to learn the tasks of a Health Specialist. You will be accompanied and supported daily by your assigned mentors. In addition, you can focus on specific tasks during regular learning days with educational and professional supervisors. After successfully completing your apprenticeship, you will be well trained and able to perform the tasks of a Health Specialist independently.
All fees and expenses will be covered by us as the training provider.
Requirements for the start of training:
- An employment of 6 to 12 months at the Cantonal Hospital Schaffhausen, depending on professional experience
- This employment serves as a basis for an aptitude test by us to decide whether we recommend or admit you for adult education according to Art. 32 BBV

- Professional care and support of sick and elderly people

- Responsibility for cleaning, disinfection and functionality of instruments and devices as well as for material procurement
What You Bring to Us
- At least 3 years of full-time professional experience
- Older than 25 years
- Workload of at least 80% and a maximum of 100%, complemented by one school day per week (20%)
- Good German skills (at least language level B2)
