Specialised Case Manager in the Paediatrics and Neonatology Department
The Women-Mother-Child Department (DFME) is seeking two specialised case managers at a 60% to 70% workload, on a permanent contract, to ensure the planning and monitoring of the medical teams in the Paediatrics and Neonatology Department. The starting date is scheduled for 1 November 2026.
In close collaboration with the referring doctors, you play a key role in planning medical resources while ensuring compliance with legal and institutional provisions regarding working time management.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Women-Mother-Child Department (DFME) brings together the services of gynaecology, obstetrics, neonatology, paediatrics, and child and adolescent surgery. More than 1,500 professionals work there, providing care for women throughout their lives, as well as for children from birth to adolescence.
Mission
- You plan the medical resources within your scope, under medical delegation, taking into account the service’s needs, staffing, and legal requirements
- You manage and update schedules in the Polypoint time management tool, in collaboration with the responsible doctors, and ensure follow-up of necessary changes and adjustments
- You coordinate with doctors, human resources, management, and controlling to ensure the reliability of information impacting planning
- You monitor and analyse time management indicators, including hour balances and holidays, identify risk situations, and propose appropriate actions
- You contribute to the continuous improvement of time management processes and tools.
Profile
- You have 3 to 5 years of experience in scheduling management in a hospital environment and understand the organisational challenges
- You are familiar with the legal and institutional provisions relating to doctors’ working time
- You possess excellent analytical and synthesis skills, as well as a global vision allowing you to anticipate organisational and financial impacts of planning
- You demonstrate excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills and are comfortable with a variety of interlocutors
- You are recognised for your leadership, rigour, and organisational skills, and know how to unite people around common goals
- You show responsiveness and excellent priority management, including during periods of high activity
- You have a thorough command of common office tools, especially the Microsoft Office suite.
Depending on the candidate’s profile, the salary class ranges between levels 7 and 8.
