The University Library Zurich (UB) ensures, together with the Central Library Zurich, the library services for the University of Zurich. Its offerings are primarily aimed at researchers, lecturers, and students of UZH. It is also accessible to the public.Training Position for a Scientific Librarian
Tasks
During your work, you will become familiar with all essential areas of a large scientific library. Concurrently, from August 2027 to May 2029, you will complete the MAS programme in Library and Information Science.
We offer:
- a solid practical training in various departments of the library
- opportunities for creativity and independent projects within the scope of the training content
- attendance of the MAS continuing education programme in Library and Information Science (https://www.biw.uzh.ch/de/masbiw.html), with 50% of the tuition fees covered
- an additional external internship
- an interesting and varied role with a workplace in the centre of Zurich
Profile
- university degree (Bachelor, Master or equivalent)
- demonstrated interest in information technologies, digital media, and current developments in science and research
- good active foreign language skills in English
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong team and cooperation skills, service orientation, commitment, and flexibility
- practical experience or internship in an information and documentation institution is an advantage
- experience in scientific project work and/or with scientific work in the university context is an advantage
