Medical secretary for the Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology Department
The management of the Locomotor System Department at CHUV is looking for a medical secretary with a workload between 80% and 100% to complete its team within the Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology Department. The starting date is scheduled for June 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Locomotor System Department (DAL) is one of the 13 clinical and medical-technical departments of CHUV. It includes three services in the medical-care and university sense: the Orthopedics and Traumatology Services, Rheumatology, and Plastic and Reconstructive Hand Surgery, as well as a division of physical medicine and rehabilitation, a physiotherapy service, and a chiropractic unit. It also includes specialized centers such as the Sports Medicine Center, the Hand Center, the Burn Center and its regenerative therapy unit, as well as the Foot Center and the Bone Diseases Center.
The Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology Service specializes in the management of all traumatic and degenerative conditions of the adult locomotor system: shoulders and upper limbs, hips, knees, ankles, and feet. Its activity is mainly surgical.
Mission
- You manage and follow up the administrative management of the patient file in the hospital sector
- You ensure the transmission of medical hospitalization documents upon patient discharge
- You act as the interface with physicians and are responsible for respecting deadlines for submitting files to the CAM in charge of coding and archiving medical records
- You handle administrative tasks such as mail, responses to telephone inquiries, and emails.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a commercial employee or an equivalent qualification
- You possess a medical secretary diploma, which is a real asset
- You have about 3 years of experience in a similar position
- You are a punctual, smiling, friendly, respectful, and polite collaborator
- You are recognized for your interpersonal skills and relational qualities
- You demonstrate empathy, active listening, and availability
- You have good knowledge of basic office tools (Microsoft Office suite)
- You are familiar with CHUV-specific tools.
