Consultation and Support Offer: Augmentative and Alternative CommunicationAugmentative and Alternative Communication helps pupils who are significantly limited in their communication abilities for various reasons. From this fact arises the central task of testing individually adapted communication aids and offering appropriate alternative systems as assistance for participation in social life.
This is based on a view of humanity that considers communication a basic need and a fundamental right of all people. This means that people who have no or only limited verbal language are provided with communication methods that complement or replace their verbal language (= Augmentative and Alternative Communication AAC).
Our Offer
General consultation for professionals and parents.
Situation-related consultation for professionals and parents for their professional or private everyday life.
Instruction of educational teams.
Coaching, case supervision, supervision for individuals and teams.
Further training in the field of AAC and provision of further training opportunities.
Our Professionals
Depending on the question or assignment, professionals from the Kompetenzzentrum Schulheim Chur are available. The staff have basic training (e.g. special education, occupational therapy, speech therapy), experience and/or additional training in the field. If necessary and required, we arrange contacts with other professionals.
