Team Leader: Purchasing

About the job

Our client is an established Swiss company with a strong market position and a nationwide organisation. For the further development of purchasing, we are looking for an experienced individual who enjoys taking responsibility, bringing people together, and developing pragmatic solutions.

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for operational procurement and lead a well-coordinated team. It is not about simply continuing existing practices. You will have the opportunity to question processes, improve collaboration across different areas, and further develop purchasing together with your team.

What to expect

Together with your team, you will ensure that materials are available reliably, economically, and at the right time. At the same time, you keep an eye on the big picture and develop structures and working methods where it makes sense.

Your tasks include, among others:

• Leading and further developing the procurement team
• Coordinating operational purchasing activities
• Further developing processes, responsibilities, and collaboration
• Maintaining and developing key supplier relationships
• Supporting negotiations and commercial agreements
• Close cooperation with Category Management, Supply Chain, and Sales
• Ensuring reliable and economical supply of goods
• Contributing to the further development of systems and digital processes

What you bring

We are not looking for theorists, but a personality who understands purchasing, enjoys working with people, and drives change with moderation.

You bring experience in purchasing or procurement and have already led teams. A background in the building materials trade, technical trade, or an industrial environment is an advantage.

We also value:

• Enjoyment of leadership and staff development
• A good understanding of purchasing and supply chain processes
• Negotiation skills and entrepreneurial thinking
• A structured yet pragmatic working style
• Experience with ERP systems, ideally SAP
• Very good German skills as well as very good French skills (mandatory)
• Willingness to travel within Switzerland
