In a nutshell
Are you interested in Swiss security policy and want to gain valuable international practical experience in the political-military dimension?
In this exciting role, you support international projects in the area of confidence- and security-building measures as well as small arms and ammunition management and contribute to the further development and operationalization of international decisions on European security within the OSCE framework.
The Army Staff (A Staff) supports the Chief of the Army in leading the Department of Defence and is responsible for the overall military planning and development of the Swiss Army. Here, according to political guidelines, the strategic foundations, force development, and army and armament planning are developed, and tasks in the international security context are performed. The leadership, control, and coordination of all overarching cross-sectional areas (personnel, finance, real estate) also fall within the responsibility of the Army Staff.
The Swiss Army employs over 9,000 staff in four military and around 200 civilian professions – at 140 locations throughout Switzerland. The next generation is also taken care of: The Swiss Army trains apprentices in over 30 professions.
