Are you interested in legal issues and enjoy working independently, precisely and solution-oriented? Then a varied role awaits you at the Office of the Attorney General of the Canton of Bern at the interface of law, administration and coordination. The position is limited until 31 March 2028.

Your tasks

• Independent handling of jurisdiction matters and drafting of orders, correspondence and statements according to internal instructions
• Clarification of pending proceedings with other authorities and management of dunning procedures
• Support in legally more complex jurisdiction proceedings by analysing case-relevant factual and legal issues for the procedural management
• Drafting the corresponding documents with justification in German and French (from template and predominantly in German)
• Occasional support of the legal secretariat in handling citizen letters, international legal assistance files and managing internal databases, etc.

Your profile

• Commercial training or equivalent qualification
• Completion of a higher technical college or several years of experience in the judicial sector is an advantage
• Independent, reliable, precise and efficient working style
• Quick comprehension and strong organisational talent
• Native German speaker and good knowledge of French (B1)

Who we are

The Public Prosecutor's Office is responsible for enforcing the state's criminal claims. It conducts the preliminary proceedings, prosecutes offences within the framework of investigations, files charges if necessary and represents these charges in court. In minor cases, it issues a penal order. Organisationally, the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Canton of Bern consists of the Office of the Attorney General, three public prosecutor's offices for the entire canton area (one public prosecutor's office for the prosecution of economic offences, one for special tasks and one for juvenile criminal matters), as well as four regional public prosecutor's offices (Berner Jura-Seeland, Emmental-Oberaargau, Bern-Mittelland and Oberland).
