Your responsibilities:

• You advise and inform adults on questions of career, study and vocational planning.
• Focus on youth and study counselling: You advise and support young people and young adults at secondary, vocational and middle schools.
• You are responsible for individual secondary school buildings, conduct short consultations there and hold parent-student events in the LBZ in the evening.
• You support the study counselling department and assist with events for middle school students.
• You participate in information events and group workshops or lead them independently.
• You have sound diagnostic knowledge and contribute this to the diagnostic specialist group.
• You take on information desk duties, including short consultations, and contribute your expertise to internal project and specialist groups.

Your background:

• You have a Master of Advanced Studies in career, study and vocational counselling and several years of professional experience in this field.
• You respond empathetically to clients and have strong communication skills.
• You enjoy working with young people, parents, teachers and young adults.
• You enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration with authorities and institutions.
• You work independently and in a structured manner.
• You are willing to give presentations to groups.

Department of Vocational Education, Middle Schools and Universities / Career Centre BL

The Career Centre (LBZ BL) in Pratteln, including mentoring and general further education, is a main department of the Department of Vocational Education, Middle Schools and Universities (BMH). The LBZ BL advises and informs young people and adults on all questions of career, school and study choice as well as career planning and operates a public information desk. The Career Centre cooperates with schools, public training and partner institutions and conducts counselling and courses on behalf of third parties.
