In charge of organising the pre- and after-school care for the City of Vevey, the family sector also manages the Vevey Children's Daycare Network.
As the deputy manager of one of the four preschool and after-school care centres (EAP-UAP), open Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, you have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Assist the manager in the administration of the facility in accordance with current cantonal directives
- Support the manager in the management and animation of the pre- and after-school care centre
- Assist the manager in the leadership and supervision of the facility's staff
- Ensure the well-being of the children in collaboration with the manager and educational staff
- Ensure the control and sanitary condition of the institution
- Actively contribute with the manager to the implementation and development of the facility's educational concept as well as the pedagogical guidelines for the different age groups
- Plan introductory meetings with parents for the relevant groups
- Manage and plan the supervision of interns and apprentices for the entire facility
- Work closely on the preparation of the annual budget and purchases and control expenses
- Participate in the managers' conferences of the system
This position requires:
- ES or HES diploma in early childhood education or training deemed equivalent by the Cantonal Children's Daycare Service (SCAJE)
- CAS in team management required or to be completed within 2 years
- At least 4 years' experience in the field of childcare, preferably with staff management
- Knowledge of issues related to collective preschool and after-school care and proven experience in participatory project development
- Strong sense of responsibility and proven organisational skills
- Complete autonomy, open-mindedness and good listening skills
- Adaptability, stress resistance and availability
- Good knowledge of common computer tools
We offer a pleasant, varied and dynamic working environment within a system consisting of 11 UAPs and 4 preschool care centres.
Start date: 1 January 2027 or by agreement
