Meilen District Court
Court Management
The Meilen District Court is a civil and criminal court of first instance and employs around 65 people. Each year, the Meilen District Court handles over 4,000 civil and criminal cases.
An auditor position at the Meilen District Court offers law graduates (MLaw) an entry into the administration of justice. The auditor period lasts a net year (14 months), which is credited as a practical year in accordance with the admission requirements for the bar examination.

Your area of responsibility
As an auditor, you support the court clerks in drafting decisions, taking minutes, maintaining file registers, and various other legal and administrative tasks. You participate in hearings and assist in processing the cases dealt with in civil and criminal law. This way, you gain insight into various areas of law and different types of proceedings.
Your profile / admission requirements (§ 2 AudVO)
- Completed studies in law (MLaw);
- Very good knowledge of the official language;
- Good reputation (criminal record extract);
- Legal capacity (certificate of legal capacity).
