(Junior) Underwriter Liability - Life Science & Clinical Trials

We are looking for our Zurich branch immediately or by arrangement:

Your main tasks

• Acquisition and underwriting of new and existing business in the national and international industrial liability segment with a focus on Life Science, especially Pharma, Biotech, MedTech and Clinical Trials
• Analysis of submissions as well as risk assessment and evaluation along the Life Science value chain; development of risk-appropriate offers and insurance solutions
• Participation in the development and expansion of a profitable Life Science and Clinical Trials portfolio
• Structuring, implementation and monitoring of national contracts as well as international liability programmes taking into account local requirements, supported by the servicing team
• Conducting negotiations with customers and brokers as well as building and maintaining sustainable business relationships in the Life Science environment
• Preparation and high-quality documentation of offers, contracts and programmes
• Close cooperation with local and international underwriting, servicing and risk engineering teams
• Active participation in sales and development tasks as well as in the further development of industry-specific insurance solutions

What you bring

• A completed basic training in the insurance industry; further training at the level of specialist certificate/insurance diploma or an equivalent qualification is an advantage
• Initial to several years of professional experience in Swiss corporate liability business; knowledge of international liability programmes is a plus
• Interest in or initial knowledge of Life Science, especially Pharma, Biotech, MedTech or Clinical Trials, and willingness to familiarise yourself with complex risks and regulatory requirements
• Analytical thinking, careful risk assessment and enjoyment in developing customer-oriented insurance solutions
• Good negotiation, communication and sales skills as well as enjoyment in exchanging with brokers and customers
• Flawless German and English skills, both spoken and written; French skills are an advantage
• Proficient user knowledge of MS Office products
• Strong team spirit combined with an independent and responsible way of working
