Business Analyst with Prospect of Product Owner (m/f/d) – 80–100 %
- 26 October 2026
- 80 – 100%
- Permanent position
- German (Native language)
About the job
You have a few years of experience in business analysis and want more: technically more complex topics, your own product area, and a clear path to becoming a Product Owner? You enjoy working at the interface between business, technology, and people – structured, pragmatic, and with an overview? – Then this position might be for you.
Your Role
As a Business Analyst, you take on the analysis and specification of requirements in the vehicle domain of Viacar V20 – the central specialist application with which five road traffic offices manage vehicles, owners, and driving licences – as well as the connected internet and API-based applications, and gradually grow into product responsibility for a sub-area.
You work closely with the Product Owner Vehicle Domain, who holds overall responsibility and supports you on your way to becoming a Product Owner. You are part of our delivery team in a SAFe environment and collaborate with specialists from the road traffic offices (StVA) as well as with the development teams of our partners in Switzerland and Vietnam.
Your Tasks
- Analyse and specify requirements: You gather requirements from the StVA, model processes and rules, analyse dependencies and impacts (e.g. via data analyses, logs, interfaces), and create business specifications and user stories with acceptance criteria.
- Ensure implementation and quality: You accompany conception, implementation, testing, and releases up to productive deployment, test yourself, and ensure business acceptance (definition of done, acceptance criteria). You participate in SAFe events (PI Planning, Refinements, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt).
- Take responsibility for a sub-area – gradually: You maintain and prioritise the backlog of your sub-area, coordinated with the Product Owner, and increasingly make your own decisions about the business design of features.
- Collaborate with business and development teams: You clarify requirements with the specialists of the StVA, prepare workshops, and co-moderate them. You provide clear requirements to the development teams of our partners, answer their questions, and track progress.
- Support operations: You contribute to the stable operation of existing applications and are the contact point for the business concerns of your sub-area.
- Create transparency: You keep the status and priorities of your sub-area transparent to the StVA and Product Owner.
Your Profile
- Degree in Computer Science/ICT, Business Informatics or Business Analysis (FH/University) or equivalent experience
- 2–4 years of experience in business analysis, ideally for technically complex applications
- Interest in product responsibility – initial contact with backlog work or prioritisation is an advantage, but not a requirement
- Confident handling of agile methods and tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Basic technical understanding (e.g. APIs, data models, system landscapes) and initial experience in testing – you also test yourself
- The ability to clearly structure and communicate complex business and technical topics
- Stakeholder competence: You clarify expectations, create transparency, and remain constructive in case of conflicting goals
- Very good German skills in spoken and written form as well as good English skills
Advantageous
- IREB CPRE or a comparable certification in business analysis
- Initial experience with SAFe or another scaled agile framework
- Experience with public administration
- French language skills
