Catering Employee / Dishwashing Assistant in the Hospitality Service
The Hospitality Service is looking for a catering employee / dishwashing assistant at the hospital site, with a workload between 80 and 100% (permanent contract). The starting date is planned for 1st September 2026 or to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals and one of the best in the world according to the 2025 ranking by Newsweek magazine. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading and European-scale role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Hospital Logistics Department (LOH) is tasked with ensuring that care, teaching and research units can fully focus on their core activities by providing and developing efficient logistical operational services (disinfection and maintenance, patient transfers, sterilisation, catering, goods transport, stock management, etc.).
The catering service of the Hospitality Service (HOT) is attached to the LOH Department of the CHUV. It includes several large kitchens producing more than 2.2 million meals annually for patients, staff and visitors. This work is carried out by more than 280 professionals committed to quality and service.
Mission
- You carry out cleaning and maintenance tasks of various premises according to established guidelines and procedures
- You apply the current HACCP standards and record cleaning activities (self-monitoring)
- You use, clean and maintain equipment and materials (dishes and utensils) according to established guidelines and procedures
- You actively contribute to waste reduction and sort waste (food and non-food)
- You set up all the equipment (dishes, cutlery, trays, etc.) used for meal service
- You ensure the storage of various utensils and equipment in the designated kitchen areas
- You check that the necessary quantity of dishes is available for each meal service
- You store and distribute all materials according to the needs of the catering service
- You may be required to cover shifts at different sites.
Profile
- You have at least 2 years of experience in the hotel, hospital or catering sector in general
- You are able to work in a hospital environment and comply with institutional hygiene standards
- You have a good command of French, both spoken and written - minimum level B1
- You are attentive to the quality of your work, punctual, autonomous and have a good team spirit
- You are willing to work variable hours, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
