Job Description
Reporting to the Chef de Partie, the key responsibilities and functions of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting in the preparation and plating of all dishes, whether à la carte or buffet, in accordance with recipes and hotel standards
- Actively sharing ideas, opinions, and suggestions
- Ensuring correct rotation of products in all cold rooms to reduce waste
- Knowing all menu dishes, daily specials, and promotions
- Consistently providing professional, friendly, and engaging service
- Offering guests professional, engaging, and attentive service while assisting colleagues
- Adhering to all hygiene and safety policies when handling food and beverages
- Ensuring consistency in the preparation of all dishes and that they comply with recipes and hotel standards
- Committing to the quality of service, discretion, and complete honesty
- Maintaining a professional attitude, smiling, and remaining calm at all times
- Ensuring cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
- Respecting ergonomic work standards in accordance with health & safety regulations, hygiene, and sanitary requirements
- Complying with departmental and company policies, procedures, and service standards
- Performing any other assigned tasks
Qualifications
- Swiss Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC) as a cook or equivalent
- 3 years of experience including apprenticeship
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Passion for cooking
- Particularly responsible and reliable
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and availability in working hours
- Good presentation, neat and conscientious
