Expert Application Developer
The Applications Statistics management unit at the Zurich location develops and operates the central platforms, tools and services for collecting, processing and analysing extensive data from banks and companies in Switzerland. The information thus obtained makes a significant contribution to fulfilling the SNB's mandate. In this versatile key role, you will work closely with data scientists and economists within projects to realise innovative solutions for managing and analysing granular data (e.g. securities data).
- Significant co-design, development and integration of a powerful data infrastructure – both through in-house developments (Java, Python) and through integration of third-party software;
- Ensuring stable operation, further development and continuous maintenance of these data-driven applications and processes;
- Support of procurement processes – from requirements analysis and tendering to evaluation and seamless system integration;
- Target group-oriented advice and support of specialist departments in using the applications in demanding business processes.
- University degree in computer science (Master’s or Doctorate) with a strong focus on software engineering as well as sound knowledge in data systems, data science and AI;
- Experience in designing data-driven applications using Java (Spring Boot), SQL and Python as well as evaluation, procurement and integration of third-party software;
- Experience in translating business requirements into technical specifications and explaining complex IT solutions understandably to non-IT specialists;
- Conceptual and systematic approach combined with a strong implementation focus and motivation to quickly familiarise yourself with a demanding field of tasks and take on responsibility;
- Very good German language skills, both spoken and written.
