About the job
Care
ASSC within the STSA, Hospitalisation Unit for Minors: UPMH
The Autism Spectrum Disorders & Related Service (STSA) is seeking several assistants in care and community health (ASSC) at an activity rate between 70% and 90%, to strengthen the Psychiatric Hospitalisation Unit for Minors (UPMH) as part of the increase in its reception capacity. The starting date is to be agreed.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in the fields of medical care, medical research and training.
The STSA is a cantonal reference service dedicated to the care of adults and children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). It consists of a tertiary centre, regional structures, and cantonal mobile teams. Its missions include training network professionals and developing clinical research, in collaboration with actors in the health, medico-social and associative fields.
The Psychiatric Crisis Unit for People with Intellectual Disability (UPCHM), opened in May 2021, has 8 beds and cares for patients with autism without functional language or moderate to severe intellectual disability, in situations of decompensation or behavioural regression, with or without psychiatric comorbidity.
The creation of this unit has significantly improved patient support, both in emergencies and in the development of interdisciplinary support projects.
The innovative concept of the UPCHM is based on several pillars:
- A setting close to a living environment, rather than a traditional hospital unit
- Integrated medico-educational support, combining medical and psycho-educational skills
- Developmental and functional assessments focused on individual needs
- Behavioural analysis based on severity scales
- Reactive and preventive management of violent situations, avoiding restraint measures
- Active follow-up at discharge, at home or in a socio-educational establishment.
Mission
- You support the patients entrusted to you and compensate for the disabilities of dependent persons in daily life activities
- You ensure the execution and monitoring of activities delegated by qualified staff
- You provide, under delegation, medico-technical acts in stable situations that do not present an emergency
- You carry out administrative and logistical activities inherent to your role, mainly related to the patients under your care.
Profile
- You hold a Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC) as an assistant in care and community health (ASSC)
- You wish to invest yourself in a pioneering and interdisciplinary unit specialised in intellectual disability and child psychiatry
- You bring your creativity, organisational skills and interpersonal abilities to the development of this specialised activity
- You demonstrate openness, flexibility, as well as a true spirit of mutual aid and collaboration
- You have at least 3 years of professional experience in the field of disability, child psychiatry or an equivalent field.
