We are an innovative pioneer in ventilators, automated pipetting and storage of samples, as well as the development of process sensors.The Business Unit Operations produces parts for all Hamilton companies, from injection-moulded parts to pipette tips for liquid handling, to metal and plastic parts. Our goal is to produce as many parts in-house as possible. This keeps us agile, independent, and efficient.

What you can achieve:

  • Responsible for the strategic orientation of the Metals category in an industrial environment

  • Developing and implementing the category strategy in line with procurement and operations strategy

  • Participating in development projects and coordinating procurement activities within strategic purchasing

  • Responsible for professional, global supplier management (evaluation, selection, assessment, and development)

  • Conducting targeted procurement market research and monitoring, as well as identifying new trends

  • Creating and negotiating contracts, conducting price and terms negotiations

  • Ensuring material availability during development phases in close cooperation with operational buyers

  • Adhering to processes, governance, and compliance

What you bring:

  • Completed commercial basic training or technical training with commercial further education

  • Completed further training in procurement or supply chain management

  • Several years of experience in strategic purchasing in an industrial environment

  • Experience with the Metals category is an advantage

  • Reliable personality with entrepreneurial thinking

  • Independent, structured, and conscientious working style

  • Initiative, negotiation skills, and assertiveness

  • Open, communicative, and honest team player

  • Fluent in German and English, spoken and written (level C1)
