Senior IT Security Engineer (m/f/d)

Role:
You don’t just want to operate systems, but ensure that critical IT environments function reliably even when things get demanding?
You combine technical know-how with a strong understanding of security, stability, and sustainable operational processes.
In this role, you take on a central position in IT operations while actively shaping the further development of infrastructure, security, and automation.
Responsibilities:
Operations & DevOps: You monitor productive systems, analyse resources and performance, plan capacities, and accompany deployments and releases.
Security & Resilience: You further develop IT security in a regulated environment, harden systems and networks, and ensure backup, restore, and disaster recovery.
Business Continuity: You ensure that critical systems are available again as quickly as possible in the event of disruptions or failures.
3rd-Level Support: You handle complex tickets and production errors, conduct technical analyses, and take care of data corrections if necessary.
Incident Management: You take over technical escalation in critical incidents and keep an overview even under time pressure.
Cloud & Infrastructure: You operate and further develop servers, networks, cloud solutions, and internal systems and accompany migrations.
Documentation & Standards: You keep technical documentation up to date, develop processes further, and ensure compliance with security and quality standards.
Qualifications:
You have completed IT training (EFZ, degree) or have a comparable qualification.
You bring several years of experience in IT operations and support of business-critical, productive systems.
You have solid knowledge in IT security, especially in system and network hardening, monitoring, and incident response.
You are familiar with ISMS or CISO topics and ideally have already worked with ISO 27001.
You work confidently with Linux, Shell, and SQL and ideally have experience with shell scripting or other programming.
You are familiar with networks and firewalls and understand topics such as zoning and network security.
You have experience operating cloud solutions as well as supporting macOS, Office 365, and Windows clients.
You are at home in 3rd-level support and can systematically analyse complex technical faults.
You work in a structured, responsible manner and value clean documentation and reliable processes.
You remain calm and clear when it matters and want to improve technical solutions sustainably rather than just repairing them temporarily.
You are interested in using AI and automation sensibly for operations and security.
You speak fluent German and have good technical English.
