For our MTWIC business unit, we are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual as a Software Engineer 100% at our location in Nänikon-Greifensee.
Our team is responsible for developing and ensuring the smooth operation of the production software used in manufacturing. At our Swiss site, we produce complex products such as measuring cells, PCBAs, terminals, precision scales, and more. Various software is required for the production of these products, which we develop and operate on-site ourselves. Additionally, our team supports a global, forward-looking MES project, where we contribute our expertise and experience to implement innovative solutions to optimise manufacturing processes worldwide. Become part of our innovative team and actively shape the digital future of production!
Your Tasks
You will take on a central role in the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions for our global manufacturing systems. In this position, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that increase manufacturing efficiency and drive digital transformation. You will also support the local team at the Nänikon site in designing, developing, and maintaining customised software solutions for production. You will develop, extend, and maintain production software based on .NET and C#, including web interfaces.
- You develop and maintain software directly related to the machinery environment. This includes processes for production and quality assurance as well as controlling motors and lasers or analysing sensor data.
- You design interfaces between Pegasus and higher-level systems, such as MES and ERP (SAP).
- You develop concepts and architectures, analyse requirements, and estimate effort.
- You ensure code quality through version control with Git, testing, and code reviews, and work with Azure DevOps for backlog, task management, and pipelines.
- You analyse errors, provide technical support, and continuously improve the software based on feedback from production.
- You introduce new tools and functions in production and train employees on-site.
- You coordinate closely with the team in Switzerland and colleagues in China, contributing to strong collaboration between locations.
We require the following for this position
- Completed degree (Bachelor or higher) in computer science, information technology, automation, or a comparable field. Electrical engineers with further training in software development are also welcome.
- Solid several years of experience in software development with .NET and C#, including web interfaces, as well as knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server or Oracle).
- Experience in the machinery or industrial environment, for example in robotics or automation. You do not need to have programmed machines directly, but you have a clear understanding of how software and machines interact.
- A systematic, structured way of thinking and working, as well as the ability to clearly present your ideas.
- Confident use of Git and modern development processes, ideally with Azure DevOps.
- Experience with AI coding agents, such as GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Claude code, is an advantage.
- Very good German and English skills.
We offer:
- Depending on the position, flexible working hours with a hybrid working model and attractive training opportunities
- A 40-hour week with at least 25 days of holiday plus 4 - 7 bridge days per year
- Free parking spaces and a workplace with direct public transport connection
- In our own METTLER TOLEDO staff restaurant, we offer our employees healthy and discounted meals
- Additionally, there are other attractive benefits such as various contributions to sports activities, etc.
