Role:

A cloud platform is only as strong as its architecture. This is exactly where you come in and shape the technical direction of a demanding Microsoft Azure environment as Lead Azure Engineer. Landing zones, governance, and security structures are created under your leadership. You critically evaluate new technologies in proofs of concept and only bring into the platform what creates real added value. When it gets technically tricky, you keep an overview across all layers.

Responsibilities:

• You automate the provisioning of cloud resources with Bicep, PowerShell, and Terraform and develop standardised deployment processes.

• You design Azure landing zones as well as management, governance, and security structures from scratch.

• You shape Azure Virtual Desktop and Windows 365 and integrate both cleanly into the Microsoft cloud environment.

• Furthermore, you are responsible for network designs with peering, VPN, routing, and private endpoints as well as access models with RBAC and enterprise applications.

• In critical cloud incidents, you take technical leadership and develop concepts for Azure Monitor, alerting, and disaster recovery.

• Additionally, you evaluate new Microsoft cloud services and continuously optimise the landscape in terms of performance, cost, and security.

Qualifications:

• Your several years of solid practical experience in engineering demanding Azure and Microsoft environments form your foundation.

• You know compute, storage, and security services in detail and consistently implement governance concepts technically.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is your everyday practice, and with PowerShell you solve even complex automation tasks elegantly.

• Moreover, you are confident in Microsoft Entra ID and master network topics such as virtual networks, private DNS, and firewall concepts.

• Hybrid infrastructures based on Windows Server are well known to you, as are backup, recovery, and high availability solutions.

• Furthermore, you recognise interactions between cloud, identity, network, and Microsoft 365 (M365) and derive well-founded architectural decisions from them.
