The Office for the Environment ensures the protection and sustainable management of natural resources and ensures that the environment of the Canton of Solothurn remains worth living in. The Administration and Controlling department ensures the planning and reporting of the office and acts as a hub for incoming and outgoing business of the specialist departments. For the Administration/Controlling department we are looking for a Head of Administration and Controlling, 80-100% at the Solothurn location from 01.12.2026 or by agreement.
Your responsibilities
- You coordinate the planning and budgeting processes as well as reporting including accounting (quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports) in the Office for the Environment. In addition, you support the youth and public prosecutor's offices in the finance and controlling area.
- In this role, you assist the office management in the preparation and follow-up (minute-taking) of management and commission meetings, in maintaining risk management and the internal control system.
- Within the office, you are responsible for personnel controlling and reporting and support the departments with new hires, retirements and departures.
- You lead a team of currently 5 employees in the secretariat and accounting.
Your profile
- You have a degree in business administration, a professional qualification in accounting or a comparable education with several years of professional experience.
- Preferably, you bring further training and experience in controlling and accounting in a public administration and are ideally familiar with SAP.
- You can demonstrate knowledge in the HR area and experience in managing employees.
- You are characterised by great organisational skills and a quick grasp, and you are used to thinking interdisciplinarily and networked, working with numerous internal and external partners.
