The Fondation Maisons pour Etudiants Lausanne (FMEL) is a Swiss non-profit public interest organisation managed by a Foundation Board.
Its mission: to design, build and manage houses dedicated to accommodating students from the University of Lausanne (UNIL), the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and the universities of applied sciences located in the canton of Vaud or under agreement (HES_VD).
Responsibilities:
The renovations & purchasing manager is in contact with external companies, administrative services and sometimes tenants. Therefore, their appearance, attitude and behaviour must convey an impeccable image of FMEL.
Within the FM department, the renovations & purchasing manager carries out the following main tasks:
- Lead building renovation projects defined within or outside the budget.
- Prepare requests for proposals, analyse quotes, plan works, and monitor construction sites.
- Manage purchases to ensure coherence and uniformity in the procurement of supplies and services, manage the supply of the central stock and the availability of necessary items in all FMEL satellite stocks.
They work closely with other services attached to the FM department, as well as with the on-site caretaking teams.
Your strengths:
- Training as a building technician with proven experience in work supervision.
- Experience in coordinating renovation projects, strong organisational skills.
- Proven experience in drafting calls for tenders, negotiations, and awarding contracts.
- Good organisational skills (managing several sites) and ability to self-organise by prioritising tasks according to importance.
- Good interpersonal skills (contacts with various stakeholders) and ability to communicate schedules to different parties.
- Rigour in budget monitoring.
- Previous experience in purchasing/stock management.
- Driving licence.
- Minimum qualification of a Federal VET Diploma (CFC), gymnasial maturity or equivalent level.
- Excellent command of French, both spoken and written (minimum C1 level).
- Good knowledge of common IT tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a genuine motivation to discover and use new tools.
Bonus:

- Experience with an ERP system
- Knowledge of MS Project

Workplace:
With an office based in Chavannes-près-Renens, the renovations & purchasing manager is required to travel regularly to the various FMEL sites.
