Welcome to the fascinating world of taxes! The cantonal tax office, together with the municipal tax offices, collects taxes for the federal government, the canton, and the municipalities. We support private individuals and companies throughout the entire tax collection process. Around 800 qualified employees are committed to this at the location in Zurich Altstetten.
The previous head of the Zurich South department is taking over the management of the private individuals division. Therefore, we are looking for a new head for the Zurich South department with six teams and a total of 53 employees from 1 May 2027 or by arrangement.
Your tasks
- You bear the personnel, professional and organisational overall responsibility for the department and directly manage the six team leaders.
- You continuously develop the department and provide targeted impulses.
- You ensure the timely and legally equal assessment of around 300,000 employees or non-working taxpayers in the Zurich South area.
- For economically significant or politically sensitive tax assessments, you support your employees and contribute your professional expertise.
- As a member of the management team of the private individuals division, you actively shape the further development of the division and the cantonal tax office.
- You engage in working groups as well as IT and organisational projects and take on internal and external speaker activities.
- Together with the municipalities division, you maintain contact and cooperation with the municipal tax offices in the southern part of the canton.
What you bring
- You have a higher commercial vocational training or a completed law or business administration university degree.
- You bring several years of professional experience as well as in-depth knowledge of non-commercial tax law and the various processes in the assessment procedure.
- You have proven leadership experience and know how to lead managers effectively and strengthen them in their leadership role.
- You convince with decisiveness, assertiveness, organisational talent and pronounced process thinking.
- Thanks to your very good communication skills, you appear confident and convincing to different internal and external stakeholders.
- Even in demanding situations, you keep an overview and represent the interests of the cantonal tax office with confidence.
