Department: Life Sciences and Facility Management

- Leading your own research group in the field of cell- and tissue-based diagnostics, focusing on the increasing digitalization and automation in this area.
- Designing and conducting courses in pathology, histology, and cytology, especially in the Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics degree program.
- Supervising and mentoring bachelor’s and master’s theses
- Complementing our center "Cell Culture and Tissue Engineering".
- Establishing your own third-party funded research activity. For this, you proactively network with partners inside and outside the university.
- Operating and further expanding the existing, state-of-the-art infrastructure
We expect a completed university degree with a doctorate in medicine, cell biology, or related fields, with experience in pathology, cytology, and histology. You can demonstrate experience (usually 5 years) outside the university sector and ideally hold a FAMH or FMH qualification. You have didactic skills or are willing to acquire them. Teaching is mostly conducted in German, so very good German skills are essential. Curiosity, didactic talent, joy in building interdisciplinary networks and exchanging knowledge across disciplines, and working with students complete your profile. The awarding of the professor title is carried out according to the regulations of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences Council.
The appointment as professor is made by the University of Applied Sciences Council upon appropriate qualification.
