- Consultation and support: Assisting asylum seekers and families in challenging life situations, providing help with everyday questions, orientation in the social environment as well as in contact with authorities and specialist offices.
- Implementing prescribed workflows in the areas of accommodation care, clothing supply, catering, and household chores.
- Community promotion: Contributing to respectful coexistence in the center and raising awareness of intercultural issues, planning and conducting leisure activities and educational offers.
- Crisis intervention: Early recognition of special protection needs and professional response to crises or conflicts.
- Casework: Conducting social work conversations, creating assessments, and planning appropriate support measures. Performing administrative tasks and reporting.
- Active collaboration with the care team and all involved agencies in the canton of SO and other partner organizations. Participating in regular team meetings.
- Child and youth protection: Actively creating a safe environment for children and young people, implementing protective measures, and early detection and reporting of risk situations.
- Process design: Contributing to the further development of processes, standards, and structures in the center in close cooperation with the care staff.
Requirements
- Completed training in social pedagogy / social work (FH or HF)
- Practical experience in the migration field is an advantage
- Teamwork skills, high social competence, and sense of responsibility
- Calmness in dealing with difficult situations and openness to different cultures
- Strong empathy
- Initiative and personal responsibility
- Basic and user knowledge of MS Office applications
- Impeccable reputation (no entries in debt enforcement and criminal records)
- German | spoken: C1 | written: C1
- Additional languages are an advantage
- Willingness to work Monday – Friday in different shifts between 06:45 – 21:30
