The Lung League is a non-profit organisation active in the health sector at a national level. In Switzerland, 15 regional lung leagues advise people suffering from lung or respiratory diseases to enable them to live as independently and symptom-free as possible. The Swiss Lung League, the umbrella organisation, employs 30 staff in Köniz, coordinates the activities of the leagues and is committed to health promotion and prevention. It represents the organisation and its members, notably with specialist doctors, health insurers and authorities.
Combines meaning and responsibility: Thanks to your experience and skills, you actively contribute to shaping the future of the Swiss Lung League. From May 2027 or by agreement, we are looking for an experienced person with leadership skills and professional expertise as
Head of Public Affairs, Prevention, Research and Member of the Executive Board (80 – 100%)
Your tasks:
- Advocacy in political matters in the fields of healthcare and prevention, as well as strategic development of health promotion and prevention to strengthen lung health in Switzerland
- Representation of the Swiss Lung League within relevant political bodies
- Management of thematic dossiers on political issues related to legislation, services, tariffs and contracts
- Design and implementation of a public relations strategy for the Swiss Lung League
- Participation in public consultations
- Drafting political arguments
- Advocacy with authorities and the media
- Management of a team of 4 employees
Your profile:
- University degree (master’s / university of applied sciences), experience in public affairs or political science
- Good knowledge of prevention and project management
- Knowledge of research and/or law is an advantage
- Professional experience in health policy
- Negotiation skills and ease with the media
- Experience in human resources management
- Conceptual, analytical and coordination skills
- Native language: German or French, with very good oral and written command of the other language
