About the job
The Swiss Cancer Institute is the national network for clinical cancer research in Switzerland. Since 1965, we have been committed as a non-profit organisation to improving cancer treatment for the Swiss population. According to our vision "Clinical research for a cure tomorrow," we conduct clinical studies in oncology and serve as the central contact point for authorities, professional associations, and the pharmaceutical industry. Around 70 employees work closely at the competence centre in Bern with all leading oncological clinics in the country.
To strengthen our pharmacovigilance team, we are looking for a motivated, reliable, and service-oriented individual to start immediately or by arrangement as
Manager Safety Office/Pharmacovigilance 60 - 80%
Your tasks:
- Processing study-specific safety reports and signals of oncological studies (writing narratives, query management)
- Internal and external contact person for the assessment of study-specific safety signals
- Creation and processing of safety reports for oncological studies (quarterly reports as well as annual safety reports in various formats)
- Assessment of the benefit/risk ratio of changes to the Investigators’ Brochure with regard to Swiss Cancer Institute studies
- Training of internal staff and staff of the Swiss Cancer Institute network on safety-relevant topics related to clinical studies
- Further development of pharmacovigilance processes
What you bring:
- Completed medical degree with clinical experience, ideally in oncology (preferred further training in medical oncology)
- Interest in clinical research, scientific questions, and pharmacovigilance
- Independence, reliability, punctuality, and pragmatism
- Very good communication skills
- Teamwork skills and the ability to work across departments
- Analytical thinking and a high level of quality awareness
- Organised and efficient handling of administrative tasks
- Excellent English and German skills, as well as good French and ideally also Italian skills
