Business Applications Engineer (m/f/d)
Role:
ERP systems form the backbone of modern trade and logistics processes. This position is aimed at a technically strong individual who not only keeps applications running but truly understands their data, processes and integrations and develops them purposefully.
Responsibilities:
Technical support of an integrated business application landscape with high importance for operational business processes
Analysis of complex system faults across multiple applications, interfaces and process steps
Taking over technical 2nd-level support and structured escalation to development or specialists
Monitoring application processes and deriving appropriate measures in case of deviations
Investigation of data inconsistencies and targeted corrections within defined processes
Creation of powerful SQL queries for data analyses, reports, control mechanisms and operational evaluations
Development of reusable checklists and technical tools for quality assurance
Maintenance of a structured knowledge base for support, IT and specialist departments
Optimisation of collaboration between user support, business applications and software development
Analysis of existing business processes and identification of opportunities for standardisation and automation
Technical support of projects, releases and changes to the application landscape
Support during maintenance work, release changes and unscheduled technical interventions
Qualifications:
IT training or comparable several years of experience in supporting business applications
Practical experience with ERP solutions and complex business processes
Very good SQL skills as well as sound understanding of relational databases
Experience in analysing interfaces, data flows and cross-system dependencies
Ideally experience with applications from trade, logistics, supply chain or comparable transaction-intensive environments
Analytical thinking and strong ability to trace complex technical problems back to their cause
Experience with agile working methods, ITSM processes or modern application support models
Confident handling of ticketing and documentation platforms
High initiative and strong sense of responsibility
Strong communication skills in exchange with technical teams and specialist departments
Willingness to participate in defined on-call and maintenance models
