To strengthen our F&B team, we are looking for a Chef de Rang (m/f/d) 50 – 100% by arrangement.
You can expect a varied working environment with us: Whether lively brasserie, diverse events or both: Together we will find the area of deployment that best suits your strengths and interests.

Your mission:
- You independently manage a service station and ensure a professional and smooth service process.
- You look after our guests with heart, personality and a high standard of quality.
- Depending on your focus, you work in our brasserie or in the event area and help ensure that our guests remember the Volkshaus Basel fondly.
- In the event area, you accompany a wide variety of events – from corporate events and banquets to concerts and festivals as well as large-scale events.
- You competently advise our guests on food and drinks and impress with your hospitality talent.
- You work closely with the kitchen, bar and other departments and support a smooth operational process.
- You take on preparatory and follow-up work and ensure that your work area always meets our quality standards.
- You participate in internal training and continuously develop your expertise.
For employees focusing on the brasserie, deployments are mainly in the à la carte evening service.
What you bring:
- Completed training in gastronomy or comparable professional experience
- Hospitality personality with joy in dealing with people
- Independent, reliable and team-oriented working style
- Sales talent as well as interest in wine, drinks and culinary arts
- You keep an overview and a smile even in hectic situations
- Good German skills, additional languages are an advantage
- Flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends
