Our Business Delivery division is responsible for the implementation and operation of customer solutions. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a committed person as a Java Backend Developer:

As a Java Backend Developer, you are responsible for the technical implementation of complex backend systems and interfaces for our digital solutions. You contribute your experience in architecture, design, and development of modern backend components and work closely with frontend, project management, and requirements engineering.

In doing so, you not only shape code but also the solution: you analyse requirements, question concepts, and find pragmatic ways to combine technical excellence with customer needs. Quality, maintainability, and a clearly structured backend are part of your craft.

You work with modern technologies and frameworks, bring in new ideas, and take responsibility for the continuous development of our platforms and development standards.

This is your task:

• You develop performant, maintainable, and secure backend components based on Java and modern frameworks
• You contribute to the technical conception and bring your experience in architectural decisions
• You gladly take responsibility for the backend and architecture in projects
• You work closely with frontend, requirements engineering, and project management to realise holistic solutions
• You analyse existing systems and develop them further in a targeted manner
• You ensure code quality through reviews, automated tests, and clean code principles
• You share your know-how within the team, introduce new technologies, and actively shape our backend standards

What you should bring

• You have a degree in (business) computer science or a comparable qualification with several years of professional experience in software development
• You are proficient in Java and have solid knowledge in using frameworks such as Spring Boot or Jakarta EE
• You bring experience in the conception and development of REST APIs and distributed systems
• You value clean, maintainable code and are familiar with automated CI/CD pipelines
• You are interested in how your code is operated and are familiar with container-based operating models such as Kubernetes or OpenShift
• Understanding and living agile methodologies (SCRUM)
• Solution- and customer-oriented with a high sense of responsibility and quality awareness
• Fluent German and English skills for communication with English-speaking developers
