Is this helpful?
The Bühl Foundation offers school, training, and socio-pedagogical support for children and adolescents with cognitive impairments or learning disabilities. This also includes the Therapeutic Residential School Group (TWSG).
The TWSG is a closely supervised program for children and adolescents with a dual diagnosis: cognitive impairment plus mental disorder (e.g., anxiety, trauma consequences, emotional instability) affecting behavior. These young people currently need a lot of security, understanding, and clear structure because a regular class or residential group overwhelms them. School and living take place in the same location. A maximum of five adolescents, fixed reference persons, clear routines instead of constant pressure. Challenging behavior is seen as a signal – every behavior has a good reason. We offer a safe place where stabilization, trust, and learning become possible again. Psychology and child and adolescent psychiatry are part of the team.
Due to a retirement, we are looking for August 2026
Curative Educator approx. 70%
Your tasks
- You teach a small class together with two experienced curative educators and professionals in social pedagogy – true team teaching, never alone.
- You plan and support individual learning goals, step-by-step and concrete. Learning for us also means: enduring frustration, calming down, assessing closeness/distance, respecting boundaries, making contact without escalating.
- You maintain the classroom as a safe place: clear structure, clear language, relationship, humor, and support.
- You contribute your curative pedagogical perspective in collaboration with social pedagogy, psychology, and child and adolescent psychiatry.
Your qualifications
- EDK-recognized teaching diploma, preferably with completed curative pedagogical training.
- You like children and adolescents even when they block, become loud, provoke, or seemingly "do not want to." You understand: behavior has a function.
- You have humor and can remain friendly in tense moments.
- You have resilience: you stay calm, set clear boundaries, and maintain the relationship.
- You want to think along, take responsibility, and actively help shape this setting.
What we offer
- Meaningful work in a setting that thinks in terms of dream pedagogy: security and relationship first – then learning.
- An interdisciplinary team with an open culture. This includes supervision, joint reflection – and colleagues who are direct, humorous, versatile, and sometimes challenging: honest, clear, not sensitive, but committed.
- Internal training through the Bühl Academy as well as participation in professional additional qualifications.
- Progressive pension fund solution with a 60% employer contribution.
Good accessibility by public transport as well as parking spaces within walking distance.
