We are looking for a

Chemical Laboratory Technician EFZ – Reference Materials & Analytics (m/f/d) – 80-100%

In this versatile role, you will take on a wide range of tasks in elemental analysis and in the production of metallic reference materials and actively contribute to the training of our apprentices.

Your main tasks include

• Performing analyses using ICP-OES, ICP-MS, spark OES, AAS and XRF, including various digestion techniques such as microwave pressure digestion
• Titration and UV/VIS spectrometry as well as C/S and O/N/H determination in solid samples
• Sample preparation and machining for wet chemistry
• Development, validation/verification and implementation of new analytical methods
• Conducting homogeneity tests on reference materials
• Performing and documenting certification analyses of reference materials according to current quality guidelines
• Equipment responsibility and maintenance of the laboratories
• Writing and maintaining QM documents, e.g. analysis instructions
• Supervising and training apprentices in elemental analysis as well as acting as an examination expert for the canton of Schaffhausen

You bring with you

• Completed training as a Chemical Laboratory Technician EFZ or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in an accredited testing laboratory, ideally with ICP-OES/ICP-MS, AAS, XRF and wet chemistry
• Trainer qualification is an advantage or willingness to acquire it
• Familiarity with work standards ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 17034 and cGMP
• Independent, careful and customer-oriented working style
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Very good German and good English skills
