The Office for the Environment ensures sustainable management of the environment. The Water Department is responsible for urban water management and water protection. For the Water Department, we are looking for a Specialist in Water Supply, 80-100% at the Solothurn location starting 01.12.2026 or by agreement.
Your responsibilities
- You are professionally responsible for the area of General Water Supply Planning (GWP).
- You independently initiate projects to implement the Solothurn Water Network (SWAN).
- You advise and support municipalities and associations on urban water management issues, including General Drainage Planning (GEP).
- Your tasks include reviewing and approving various plans and the associated construction projects.
- Working in interdisciplinary working groups and in the cantonal emergency service on call is also part of your duties.
Your profile
- You have a completed university degree in engineering (civil/environmental) or in the environmental field, or a comparable higher technical education in construction or environmental technology with several years of experience in urban water management and/or water protection.
- Your solid expertise and experience in project management and project leadership enable you to collaborate confidently with partners and stakeholders.
- Ideally, you have several years of practical experience in engineering offices or public administration.
- You are characterised by strong negotiation skills, team spirit, and enthusiasm.
- Interdisciplinary work and networked thinking are natural to you, and you are open to new tasks and challenges.
