About the job
The Bern Centre for Eating Disorders offers specialised and interprofessional treatment of the highest professional standard to children and adolescents aged 6 to 17 years as well as their families. The centre combines outpatient, outreach, day-patient and inpatient services, enabling individually tailored treatment across various settings.
In the inpatient and day-patient areas, adolescents with anorexia, ARFID, bulimia, binge-eating disorder, as well as eating disorders in the context of other mental illnesses, are treated in particular. Multidisciplinary collaboration, close networking with research, and orientation towards the latest scientific findings form the central foundations of treatment.
As ward manager, you will take on a responsible leadership role in a committed and multiprofessional team and actively shape the further development of the specialised treatment services.
Your tasks
- You take on the personnel, professional and organisational management of the therapy ward for eating disorders and, together with your team, shape a high-quality provision of care
- You lead your team with appreciation, promote the professional and personal development of your employees, and strengthen open, trusting collaboration
- You ensure the efficient use of personnel and operational resources and guarantee smooth ward operations
- You continuously develop treatment and work processes and advocate for high quality standards as well as modern care
- You work closely with internal and external specialists as well as relatives and contribute to a networked treatment approach
- You bring your ideas into cross-departmental projects and actively help shape the future of child and adolescent psychiatry
Your profile
- You have completed training as a nursing specialist or an equivalent qualification recognised in Switzerland
- You bring solid professional experience in psychiatry – ideally in child and adolescent psychiatry
- You already have leadership experience or are ready to take the next step into a leadership role
- You lead appreciatively, make decisions with prudence, and understand how to support employees and achieve goals together
- You work in a structured manner, act responsibly, and maintain an overview even in demanding situations
- You convince with your communicative strength, high social competence, and enthusiasm for actively shaping the further development of the ward
