Project Manager and Cultural Policy Communication Lead 70 - 80%

The Cultural Office defines the strategic direction of cultural promotion and implements the cultural policy of the Government Council. It supports contemporary cultural creation in various sectors, supports projects and institutions, awards prizes and distinctions, and assists municipalities with their cultural programmes. Through these activities, the Cultural Office contributes to a diverse cultural life in the Canton of Zurich.
From 1 February 2027 or by arrangement, we are looking for a person who, with commitment and assertiveness, implements and advances cultural policy projects and is responsible for cultural policy communication.
Your tasks
- Managing cultural policy issues and projects, such as responding to enquiries and postulates, in exchange with cultural institutions, administration, and politics.
- Responsibility for the cultural policy communication of the Cultural Office in close cooperation with management.
- Coordination and responsibility for implementing the priorities of the cultural mission statement.
- Responsibility for the strategic communication of the Cultural Office
- Participation in management
- Representation of the canton in committees
Profile
- Completed degree or comparable professional experience
- Several years of professional experience in political communication as well as in the conception and implementation of cultural policy projects and strategic initiatives. Knowledge of Swiss cultural promotion and cultural policy actors as well as a good understanding of professional cultural creation in the Canton of Zurich.
- Experienced communicator, with a sense for relevant topics and target groups as well as the ability to independently develop and implement content.
- Independent, proactive, and integrative personality who enjoys working project-based in a team with high initiative, takes responsibility, and brings together different stakeholders.
