Office for Forest and Wildlife of both Basels
Our mission is to preserve the forest and wildlife for current and future generations. As a service office of the cantons Basel-Landschaft and Basel-Stadt, we implement forest, hunting and fisheries legislation, advise governments and directorates on forest and wildlife policy issues, and promote dialogue between stakeholders. Together we create a diverse, resilient, value-adding and accessible habitat. We see ourselves as service providers for the benefit of people and animals. We are committed to the preservation and development of the landscape and the protection of native animal species. Contemporary and animal welfare-compliant hunting and fisheries, oriented towards wildlife ecological criteria, is a central concern.
Our Team
In our daily work, we follow a future vision that we have created together with stakeholders and recorded in guiding principles for forest, wildlife and fish. In this way, we make a meaningful contribution in the service of flora, fauna and society. Varied projects enable the further development of forest and wildlife management in Basel-Landschaft and Basel-Stadt. For this, we maintain constant exchange with our partner organisations. For the greatest possible success, we try to combine experience with innovation.
