The State Archive preserves the permanently archival-worthy documents of the cantonal authorities as the historical memory of the Canton of Solothurn. For the State Archive, we are looking immediately or by arrangement for a fixed term of 12 months at the Solothurn location for a University Intern, 60-100%.
Your responsibilities
- Your tasks include the formation, appraisal, and indexing of historical collections from the 15th to 19th centuries (Department Middle Ages to Restoration).
- You will participate in advising archive clients and public relations work.
- Additionally, you will gain an exciting insight into further archival tasks.
Your profile
- You have completed a Master’s degree, preferably in a historical field. You have an interest in administrative history and aspire to a career in the archival sector.
- You have good skills in reading old German and French manuscripts.
- Your strengths include analytical thinking, precise and systematic working methods, independence, and teamwork.
