Infrastructure Specialist

Tasks

• You will further develop the bathing and ice facilities and initiate and accompany construction measures from maintenance to new builds.
• You will represent the user needs of the Sports Office and the urban planning requirements in studies, competitions and construction projects and take on operational project management.
• You will prepare fundamentals such as operating concepts, space programmes and project requirement specifications and write reports and expert opinions.
• You will monitor the structural and technical condition as well as the attractiveness of the facilities and propose optimisation measures if necessary.
• You will advise the department and division management strategically, participate in political matters and motions, and represent the Sports Office in municipal and supra-municipal committees.

Profile

• Master’s level education at a University of Applied Sciences or University/ETH and a specific additional qualification, for example CAS in Sports Facility Construction
• Very good experience in project and construction project management and leadership skills in matrix and project organisations
• Very good knowledge of processes and procedures in city administration, professional knowledge in building technology in the bathing and ice facilities sector
• High communication skills, negotiation skills, very good written expression and a friendly manner with various stakeholders
• Initiative, structured and solution-oriented working style, entrepreneurial and networked thinking as well as high resilience and flexibility

About us

The Sports Office is a service department of the School and Sports Department of the City of Zurich. It is the competence centre for sports promotion and provides facilities for the physically active population and clubs, sports facilities as well as indoor and outdoor pools. The organisation of compulsory swimming lessons and voluntary school sports are also core tasks of the Sports Office. Through targeted information, the Sports Office motivates more physical activity and advises and supports sports organisations.
